Agartala, September 09, 2022: Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday attended a video conference chaired by union Water Resource minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and union Rural Development department Giriraj Singh. The meeting was also attended by secretary of DWS department Kiran Gitte, Chief Engineer Shyamlal Bhowmik, Superintendent Engineer Rajib Majumder and others.
DWS minister Chowdhury said “Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modiji has called ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ program for the welfare of the country. He wants to keep the country clean. If we make the environment around us clean and beautiful then we are doing ourselves a service. So the other name of transparency is service.”
“I participated in a video conference organized by Jal Shakti department of the Government of India at 10 am on Friday to strengthen the public participation of the country through ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ campaign. This video conference was organized to review the preparations of various activities as part of the fortnightly program of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ (Cleanliness Service Movement) from September 15 to October 02 next”, he added.Ministers, secretaries and senior officers of the concerned departments of various states and union territories of India participated in this video conference.
