Sushanta chairs meeting to strengthen public distribution system

Agartala: June 02. Food, Civil supplies and Public Distribution Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today chaired a meeting on video conference with all the food department officials of eight districts and the sub-divisional magistrates aiming to strengthen public distribution system and overall development of the department.

On Facebook, the minister wrote, “This afternoon held a meeting with various sub-divisional magistrates and food department officials of eight districts of the state in a video conference on various important issues related to strengthening Public Distribution System (PDS) and overall development of all including consumers affairs”.

The minister further said that during the meeting he learned about the detailed information regarding the stock of various food items from the high-ranking officials present in the video conference and instructed the officials of the food department to take necessary measures to keep stocks in the warehouses of the food department in accordance with the demand before the specified time.

Besides, he instructed the officials to conduct regular on-the-ground monitoring in the markets to keep the price of daily necessities at a stable and tolerable level.

The Food Minister gave necessary suggestions to strengthen the public distribution system with joint efforts of all and to bring more dynamics to the work of the Department for overall development of all including consumers.

In today’s video conference, Additional Director Animesh Debbarma, Deputy Director Abhijit Biswas, Subrata Majumder and other SDMs were present.
