Agartala, September 25: Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday afternoon graced a tribute ceremony organized by the ICA department in commemoration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary. During the event, Minister Chowdhury paid his respects to a portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and illuminated a ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Chowdhury echoed the words of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, emphasizing, “Until the society is strong, the country will not be strong.” He went on to highlight the government’s commitment to strengthening society in alignment with the vision set forth by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
He praised the philosopher’s life as a guiding philosophy, noting that the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikas, Sabka Biswas, and Sabka Prayas” ultimately represent profound humanism. He emphasized that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay epitomized this unified humanism, underscoring the importance of mutual support and the development of every individual within society.
Furthermore, Minister expressed that the government is steadfastly working to realize Deendayal Upadhyay’s vision, rooted in Indian values and ideals. He stressed that celebrating the birthdays of great individuals like Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay serves the essential purpose of educating and inspiring the next generation.
Regrettably, Minister Chowdhury lamented the lack of initiatives during previous governments to acquaint the public with India’s numerous great figures. He noted that history remembers those who make sacrifices for society and the nation, with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay being one such luminary.
The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairman Ratan Kumar Das, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Pritam Debnath, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Aparna Shukla Das, Jirania SDM Santi Ranjan Chakma, philanthropist Gouranga Bhowmik, and West District Cultural Adviser, among others.
The program was efficiently conducted by Goutam Das, Senior Information Officer of the ICA Office, Jirania Sub-division.
In celebrating Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s legacy, the ceremony sought to inspire awareness and appreciation of his profound thoughts and contributions to society.
