Agartala, November 03: The 36th Annual Conference of the prestigious Neuro Science and Neuro Surgery Association has found a welcoming and appreciative host in the state of Tripura. The event, which has been organized for the second time in this vibrant state, saw the participation of Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha and Tourism & Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who extended his gratitude to the attending members of the medical community.

In his address, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted the significant advancements made in the field of neuro science and neuro surgery in Tripura since 2018 when the current government assumed power. He recalled a time when patients had to seek better management, treatment, and minor neurosurgery outside the state, incurring substantial financial expenditure in the process. The situation took a positive turn with the arrival of Dr. Siddha Reddy, who was invited to join GB Hospital in Tripura. This marked the beginning of a transformative journey in neurosurgery and neuroscience within the state.

The minister commended the efforts of the medical community, emphasizing the considerable progress achieved in GB Hospital over the past six years. He also acknowledged that there remains much work to be done and expressed confidence in the collective efforts of the attending professionals to further advance the field of neuro science and neuro surgery in Tripura.

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury recognized the significant changes brought about in the healthcare sector under the guidance and leadership of the Chief Minister, Dr. Saha, who also hails from the same fraternity. He underscored the government’s emphasis on healthcare and the subsequent reduction in the percentage of patients referred outside the state for neurosurgery.

Moreover, the Minister pointed out the holistic progress in healthcare, higher education, and the establishment of essential institutions such as the dental college and two medical colleges. Tripura has made remarkable strides in these sectors, attracting students and professionals from various parts of the country.

In conclusion, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the Neuro Science and Neuro Surgery Association for choosing Tripura as the host for their conference. He recognized that the association had the option to convene in other locations but opted for the vibrant state of Tripura, affirming the state’s growing significance in the field of medical education and healthcare. The conference, which marks a significant milestone in the field of neuro science and neuro surgery, is set to continue making remarkable contributions to medical science and patient care.
