Agartala, 30th May 2026: Tripura’s Tourism and Transport Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, emphasized that the “Double Engine” BJP government—comprising both the Centre and the State—is working with the utmost priority on women’s empowerment. He stated that as a result of these efforts, “a large section of our mothers and sisters has currently been able to achieve self-reliance in various fields.”
The Minister was addressing the BJP Mahila Morcha conference held at Birendranagar School in the Majlishpur Assembly constituency. He praised the spontaneous enthusiasm and spirit of the “Matrishakti” (womenfolk) present at the gathering, asserting that “thwarting all attempts by malicious elements—the public’s faith and trust in the Double Engine government remain unshaken.”
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Honorable Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA, Dipak Majumder; Majlishpur Mandal President, Ranjit Roy Chowdhury; along with other leaders of the Mahila Morcha.
