Agartala: April 12, 2023: Due to the Act East policy, there is going to be a huge change in the communication system in the state. Advanced communication infrastructure has already been developed in the state. The proactive early policy will further improve the communication system in the state. As a result, the economic development of the state will also accelerate, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this while inaugurating the Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) in Jirania on Wednesday.
It is worthy to mention here that Rs 14 crore has been spent to build this institute in Jirania. Secretary of the Transport department Uttam Kumar Chakma delivered the welcome address in the opening ceremony. Besides, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Pritam Debnath and Neeraj Sharma spoke on behalf of Tata Motors. Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, social worker Gouranga Bhowmik, Shyamsunder Musa of Tata Motors were present.
In the event, Transport Minister Chowdhury also said that the Transport department in the state is working with reputation. The scope and activities of the Department of Transport have increased a lot. This department provides maximum revenue to the state government. He also said that Agartala Airport is now one of the busiest airports in North Eastern region. International flight services will also be available from this airport in the coming days. Advanced communication system has been developed in the state by road, air and rail. Once the Agartala-Akhaura new rail link project is completed, Tripura will become the gateway to South East Asia. As a result, Tripura’s commercial relations with Bangladesh will be stronger. Employment opportunities will also increase in the state.
In the event, he further added that the government has plans to start such institutes in every district of the state. The objective of this institute is to impart better driving training to vehicle drivers. Moreover, the vehicle drivers will also be taught the rules of driving here. When a tourist from outside the state comes to the state, the vehicle drivers are the first to meet them. The vehicle drivers have a role to play in the development of tourism in the state. So this institute will play an important role in making the vehicle drivers’ suitable.
After the inauguration, the Transport Minister unveiled the plaque of the institute’s new building and inspected the building.
