Agartala, 2nd March 2026 : Tripura’s Food, Civil Supplies, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury held an important review meeting with senior officials of his departments ahead of the upcoming state budget session, which is likely to begin on March 13.
The meeting was attended by secretaries, special secretaries and directors of the Transport, Tourism, and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs departments. The discussion focused on preparations for the forthcoming budget session and key proposals to be placed before the House.
Addressing the officials, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the need for coordinated planning and efficient implementation of schemes related to public distribution, consumer welfare, transportation infrastructure, and tourism development. He directed the departments to ensure that all necessary data, project reports, and budgetary requirements are properly compiled and aligned with the government’s development priorities.
The minister said the upcoming budget session will be crucial for strengthening essential services and boosting growth in the transport and tourism sectors, while also safeguarding consumer interests across the state.
Sources indicated that detailed departmental presentations were made during the meeting, outlining ongoing projects, future plans, and financial requirements for the next fiscal year.
The Tripura budget for the financial year 2026–27 is expected to be presented during the session beginning March 13.
