Sushanta inaugurates two projects, distributes bicycles among 853 girls

Agartala, December 01, 2022: ICA, YAS and DWS minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday inaugurated two projects- DWS Division, indoor stadium and distributed 853 bicycles among school girls at Sabroom.

Minister distributed bicycles to 853 school girls at Sabroom Class XII school ground, followed by the inauguration of DWS Division and later indoor stadium at Harina Tilla area.Speaking to media persons here, Chowdhury said that the state government has decided to open four more DWS divisions to realize the centrally sponsored project “Jal Jeevan Mission” and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal”. These four divisions are Sabroom, Jirania, Amarpur and Kanchanpur. With the inauguration of DWS Division in Sabroom today, twelve DWS divisions have been completed in the state.

The minister said that there are 7.42 thousand houses in the state and among them 4.6 lakh houses have been provided free tape water connection through pipelines and recorded percentage of 57 percent.

He said, “When we came to power, tape water connection was recorded only 3 percent. We need to go further to provide people with clean, filtered water.”

“Apart from this, I have come here for party’s organizational purpose. You know, after the formation of our government, we have been able to present a people-oriented government to the entire country and state”, he added.
