Sushanta seeks everyone’s cooperation to make drug free Tripura

Agartala: Nov 22. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today sought cooperation of all to make the state as well as Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) drug free by organizing awareness programs/workshops.

Minister Chowdhury today chaired a meeting on ‘Drug Free Tripura’ organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura at the conference hall of Agartala Municipal Corporation today afternoon.

“In the coming days, we seek the cooperation of all to keep the youth away from the clutches of drugs by emphasizing on organizing awareness programs/workshops on drug-free Tripura in 51 wards of Agartala Municipal Corporation. Our government is committed work against drug menace. The administration is constantly campaigning against addiction. Strict legal action is being taken by the administration against the accused in drug trade”, said the minister.

He also said that ‘Khelo Tripura, Healthy Tripura’ program is working to keep students and youth away from drug addiction.

Various clubs associated with social work, NGOs, public representatives should simultaneously join the efforts of the state government to de-addiction the youth society.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Rebati Mohan Das, MLA Dilip Kumar Das, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, Agartala Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Youth Affairs and Sports Director Subikash Debbarma and Councilors of different wards of AMC were present in this meeting today.
