Agartala: March 09. People of Charilam Assembly Constituency were excited and happy after their former MLA and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma visited the area.After the election, he was isolated himself from Charilam for eight days.
In the end, he could not keep himself away. Dev Varma rushed to Charilam on Thursday, the day after the swearing-in of the new Council of Ministers. Thousands of BJP functionaries gathered at Charilam after hearing about the arrival of their beloved leader. As soon as Dev Varma got down from the car, there was a sudden silence with teary eay.
At the end, former Deputy Chief Minister Dev Varma held a meeting with the burdened of BJP workers at Leeladeva Smriti Community Hall.The party workers tearfully asked their beloved leader to stay by Charilam’s side. Dev Varma said there is nothing to worry about. We have won. Due to some reason we could not win in Charilam. But the happy thing is that today the hall is packed with party workers.
“I have been organizing BJP for a long time. We did not have an organization in Charilam. Today we have an organization. Although we may not win in numbers, our organization is strong. We should work together. I may not be able to come as often as before because the responsibility given by the party must be fulfilled. But I can’t forget you. I tried to work for five years because you gave me love and affection. More work remains to be done. Since we have a government, those things will happen”, he said.
