Syandan Patrika scribe’s kin receives TJFPPS benefit

Agartala, January 20, 2023: Tripura government launched the Tripura Journalist Family Protection Pension Scheme in response to the long-standing demand of the Agartala Press Club.

On the plea of Preeti Saha Datta, wife of the late Syandan newspaper journalist Animesh Datta, the state government has introduced Rs 5,000 per month as a family protection pension for this journalist.

On Friday, a delegation from Agartala Press Club went to late Animesh Datta’s house at Khayerpur and handed over the Tripura Journalist Family Protection Pension paper to Preeti Saha Datta.

On behalf of Agartala Press Club, the club’s Vice-President Arun Nath, Secretary Pranab Sarkar, Assistant Secretary Ramakanta Dey and Director of Syandan newspaper Abhishek Dey were in the delegation.

Agartala Press Club thanks the state government and ICA department for this initiative. Agartala Press Club feels that many journalists’ families will benefit from this decision in the future.
