Agartala: July 01. Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Saturday said that Taxpayers play an important role in the overall development of the country.
“The money collected from taxes is spent on the development of the country. Taxpayers play an important role in the overall development of the country”, said Finance Minister Singha Roy while inaugurating the GST Day celebrations at Agartala Town Hall today.
In the event, the finance minister urged to participate in the overall development of the country by paying taxes on time. He said that those who have not yet got themselves involved with GST should get involved with GST immediately.
On the occasion, Finance Minister also said that on this day, the first GST was introduced in the country in 2017 and it has proved to be a breakthrough system in paying taxes, although traders faced some difficulties in paying taxes initially.
Singha Roy said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, various programs are being successfully implemented for the welfare of the people across the country as well as in the state.
On the occasion, Finance Secretary Brijesh Pandey congratulated the tax payers and said that the tax collection has increased in the past years since the introduction of GST. The Finance Secretary urged the businessmen to join the GST and participate in the overall development of the country.
