Agartala, 7th October 2024: The State Child Health Services Scheme organized a comprehensive one-day workshop focusing on malnourished children at the Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel. The event also included sessions addressing the pressing issue of child marriage.
The workshop saw the participation of Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Jayanti Debbarma and Member Chameli Saha among others. The initiative aimed to shed light on the critical health challenges faced by children in the state.
In her address, Chairperson Debbarma emphasized the alarming rates of malnutrition among children and pregnant mothers in the region. “Today’s workshop is primarily focused on malnutrition, a severe issue affecting many children and expectant mothers in our state. The future of our society lies in the well-being of our children, and it is imperative that we address these health concerns urgently,” she stated.
The workshop provided a platform for discussing strategies to combat malnutrition and prevent child marriages, aiming to create a healthier and safer environment for the younger generation. The event underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling these social issues and highlighted the role of community awareness and government intervention in driving positive change.
