Agartala, 7th September 2026 : Amid growing concerns in Tripura over reports of 450 fake B.Ed colleges in neighbouring West Bengal, unemployed candidates who qualified the 2024 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) have intensified their demand for immediate recruitment.
A group of TET-qualified candidates submitted a deputation to the Chairman of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) on Monday, demanding that the recruitment process for teachers be expedited and all eligible candidates be appointed together.
The candidates urged the authorities to immediately publish the merit lists for both Graduate Teacher (GT) and Post-Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts and complete the recruitment of all eligible TET-qualified candidates in a single process.
The protesting candidates alleged that they have approached the authorities several times in the past with the same demands. They also claimed that despite repeated attempts, they have been unable to secure a meeting with Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha to discuss their concerns.
According to the candidates, they have met the TRBT Chairman on several occasions, but alleged that they were repeatedly given assurances that, they claim, were not fulfilled.
The TET-qualified job aspirants further alleged that the government was deliberately delaying the recruitment process, leaving a large number of qualified unemployed youths in uncertainty.
They demanded transparency in the recruitment process, early publication of the merit lists and simultaneous appointment of all eligible candidates.
