Agartala, 21st December 2025: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB), celebrated its Golden Jubilee (50th Foundation Day) today with a grand and well-orchestrated ceremony, marking five decades of dedicated service towards financial inclusion, rural development, and socio-economic empowerment in the state of Tripura.
The prestigious event witnessed the presence of Pranajit Singha Roy, Finance Minister, Government of Tripura; Krishnendu Chakravertty, IGP (Intelligence & Security), Tripura Police; Surindra Nidar, General Manager & Officer-in-Charge, RBI, Agartala; Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Tripura Regional Office; Satyendra Singh – Chairman Tripura Gramin Bank, and Kaushik Chattopadhay, General Manager, Punjab National Bank, Head Office, New Delhi.
The programme commenced at 11:00 AM in Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan Hall No-1, with the felicitation of dignitaries on the dais, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the inaugural song “Vande Mataram”, creating a solemn and patriotic ambience. The Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank delivered the welcome address, highlighting the Bank’s 50-year journey of trust, resilience, and commitment to inclusive banking.
A specially curated video documentary titled “50 Years Journey of Tripura Gramin Bank” was released, showcasing the Bank’s evolution, milestones, and transformational impact across rural and semi-urban Tripura. This was followed by addresses from senior officials of NABARD, Reserve Bank of India, Tripura Police, and the Hon’ble Finance Minister, who lauded the pivotal role of TGB in promoting entrepreneurship, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and grassroots economic development.
A key highlight of the celebration was the felicitation of Founder Members of Tripura Gramin Bank, acknowledging their visionary contributions in laying the foundation of the institution. The Bank also felicitated eight successful entrepreneurs from all eight districts of Tripura, recognizing their achievements and entrepreneurial spirit.
During the Mega Credit Delivery Ceremony, Tripura Gramin Bank sanctioned loans amounting to Rs 5.97 crore to 8 entrepreneurs from 8 districts of the state and Rs 1.30 crore to 13 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), reaffirming its commitment to credit-led growth, livelihood generation, and women empowerment. Additionally, five dummy cheques were ceremonially distributed to claimants under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), symbolizing timely social security claim settlements.
The event witnessed an overwhelming gathering of nearly 1,500 participants, including customers, SHG members, entrepreneurs, bank officials, stakeholders, and well-wishers, reflecting the deep public trust and goodwill earned by the Bank over five decades.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, marking the successful completion of a meticulously planned and smoothly executed Golden Jubilee celebration. The event stood as a proud testimony to Tripura Gramin Bank’s enduring legacy and its continued resolve to serve as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable development in the years ahead.
