Agartala, 29th October 2025:    Panic gripped the capital this morning following the recovery of a Tripura Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation employee found hanging behind the Indranagar Handloom office.

The deceased, identified as Mintu Debnath, 54, a resident of Noaniamura, was employed under the DRW (Daily Rated Worker) scheme. Local sources informed that Debnath had left home early in the morning for routine market errands. Shortly thereafter, his colleagues spotted his body hanging behind the office premises and immediately alerted the GB Outpost police.

Police officials reached the scene promptly and sent the body to the GB Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. While initial observations suggest suicide, police have not ruled out foul play. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death.

Sources indicate that both family members and colleagues are being questioned. Debnath’s family rushed to the site upon hearing the news and broke down in tears, struggling to come to terms with the sudden tragedy.Authorities are expected to release further details pending the autopsy report and ongoing inquiry.
