Agartala, November 01: A group of thieves broke into an empty house in Netaji Chowmuhani area of the city and stole valuables and cash. The house owners, Debasish Datta and his wife Soma Datta, had gone out of their house and left the key with a neighbour. The neighbour, who came occasionally to pick flowers, did not enter the house and was unaware of the robbery.
The theft came to light on Wednesday, when the housekeeper came to clean the house. She found the door open and everything in disarray. She alerted the neighbours, who went inside and found that all the belongings and money had been taken by the thieves. They also noticed that the ventilator and kitchen door were broken.
The police were informed about the incident and they arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. They registered a case and collected evidence from the house. They are trying to identify and nab the culprits behind the daring robbery. They have also questioned the neighbour who had the key and the housekeeper who found the theft.
The house owners, who are still out of town, have been informed about the incident by the police. They are shocked and saddened by the loss of their valuables and cash. They have requested the police to recover their stolen items and arrest the thieves as soon as possible.
