Thieves loot house at Udaipur, flee with cash and gold

Agartala, 9th March 2024:  A house in Udaipur’s Shalgara area was looted by a group of thieves on Friday night, when the owner and his family were away. Abdul Hussain, the owner of the house, said that he had gone to his in-laws’ house in Gandachhara with his family yesterday.

When he came back, he found the door of his house broken and his valuables missing. The thieves had taken away Rs 45,000 in cash and gold ornaments from his house.

Hussain reported the incident to the police, who have launched a probe into the matter. The theft is the latest in a series of burglaries that have plagued the state in recent times, causing fear and insecurity among the residents.
