Thieves looted retired police officer’s home

Agartala, 26th October 2023:    : In a audacious act of burglary, the residence of retired police officer Gopal Laskar, located in the Gokulnagar Tower Para area under the jurisdiction of Bishalgarh police station, fell prey to a group of brazen thieves. The incident transpired during Laskar’s absence, as he was away in Agartala for the past 3 to 4 days tending to his wife’s medical needs.

Seizing the opportune moment, the nefarious group wreaked havoc within the household, leaving behind a trail of destruction. In their swift operation, the burglars absconded with a substantial sum of Rs 50,000 in cash, four invaluable pieces of gold jewelry, and three mobile phones.

The shocking discovery awaited Laskar and his wife upon their return on Wednesday, thrusting them into a state of disbelief and distress. Swiftly, the authorities at the Bishalgarh police station were alerted to the scene. A rigorous investigation into the heist has been promptly initiated by law enforcement.
