Three Detained for Allegedly Posting Objectionable Content Against Chief Minister on Social Media

Agartala, 21st March 2026:  Police have detained three individuals in connection with allegedly posting objectionable content targeting the Chief Minister on social media platforms.

According to reports, two accused—Mangal Koloi and Dipak Chandra Pal—were detained late Friday night. Koloi was picked up from the Nandan Nagar area, while Pal was detained from the Narsingarh area by personnel of West Agartala Police Station. The individuals are accused of using the Chief Minister’s image in inappropriate posts circulated online.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of West District Additional Superintendent of Police, Dhruva Nath, who led a large police team during the drive.

Following the initial detentions on Friday night, police on Saturday detained a third accused, identified as Subir Roy Tripura, from Manu in Dhalai district.

All three detainees are currently being interrogated at West Agartala Police Station. Police officials have not disclosed further details regarding the arrests. The Superintendent of Police (West District) stated that the investigation is ongoing and that several individuals are being questioned in connection with the case.

Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
