Three held in Dharmanagar for allegedly abducting, assaulting youth

Agartala, 21st  July 2026:  A sensation has spread in Dharmanagar after a youth from Jail Road Chara area was allegedly forcibly taken away from his ho

me and assaulted. Acting swiftly, Dharmanagar police have arrested all three accused persons in connection with the incident.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Titu Das, a resident of Charapar area near Jail Road, lodged a complaint against Babul Bhajpar, Ranjit Bhajpar, and Pranay Das. He alleged that on the 15th of this month, the accused forcibly took him away and physically assaulted him.

After the attack, the accused allegedly left Titu in a critical condition near a culvert close to his house and fled from the spot. Later, his family members and local residents rescued him and admitted him to a hospital, where he underwent treatment for four days.

After returning home, Titu filed a written complaint at Dharmanagar Police Station. Following the complaint, police immediately launched an investigation and arrested the three accused persons.

Further legal action is being taken against the arrested individuals. Local residents have expressed satisfaction over the prompt action taken by the police.
