Agartala, 3rd December 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three youth today at Paschim Pilak Colony along the Jolaibari-Belonia alternative national highway. The collision took place when two motorcycles crashed head-on, leaving all three riders dead on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Tripura (16), son of Swapan Tripura of Paschim Pilak; Biplab Shil Sharma of Madhya Pilak; and Prasanna Dutta of Paschim Pilak.
Fire service personnel rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and recovered the bodies. The victims were taken to Jolaibari Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Preliminary reports suggest that the accident was caused by speeding, which led to the violent impact. Both motorcycles were mangled beyond recognition, and the riders were thrown to opposite sides of the road. Despite swift rescue efforts by locals and firefighters, their lives could not be saved.
Road accidents have been on the rise across the state, with young lives being lost almost daily. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
