Agartala, 14th July 2025: The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has set an ambitious profit target of ₹13 crore for the financial year 2025–26, announced Chairman Nabadal Banik at a press conference on Monday.
Banik said the state government has taken several proactive steps to turn TIDC into a profitable and dynamic organization. The corporation recorded a profit of ₹4.02 crore in 2022–23, ₹7.33 crore in 2023–24, and ₹9.87 crore in 2024–25.
“In line with this growth trajectory, we have set a profit target of ₹13 crore for the upcoming fiscal year,” he said.
Banik also announced that the Corporation is developing seven new industrial areas across Tripura to boost investment and employment. “Currently, TIDC is managing and allocating land in 13 industrial estates. We are now expanding with seven more in various parts of the state,” he added.
To further support industrial growth, Banik said the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned a loan of ₹975.26 crore for developing modern industrial infrastructure in nine key locations: Bodhjungnagar, RK Nagar, Dukli, Nagichhara, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, Dewanpasha, Dhujanagar, and Sarasima. “Work on these projects is already underway,” he confirmed.
He emphasized that the Corporation is prioritizing revival of closed units, acquisition and reallocation of idle units to new entrepreneurs, rent collection, and improved administrative efficiency. “We are working towards formulating industry- and investment-friendly policies while ensuring profitability,” Banik noted.
The chairman also highlighted TIDC’s efforts in promoting self-employment among the youth, especially in rural and hilly areas. “Projects like Yuva Tripura, New Tripura, and Atmanirbhar Tripura have gained popularity. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha are focused on making the youth of Tripura self-reliant,” he said.
In terms of ease of doing business, Banik said that all industrial permissions, licenses, and approvals are now available through a single-window online portal. He added that security has been ramped up in Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar industrial estates through enhanced night patrolling.
Also present at the press conference, TIDC Managing Director Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav informed that 10,000 individuals have so far been trained under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Project, aimed at producing skilled manpower for industries across the state.
