Agartala, 21st August 2026 : Representatives of the Tripura Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Sangh, affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), met Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy to discuss various issues concerning Anganwadi workers and helpers under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.
During the meeting, the representatives highlighted challenges related to their daily responsibilities, working conditions and long-pending demands. Minister Tinku Roy said the discussions were constructive and positive, adding that he listened to the issues raised by the representatives in detail.
“After listening to each point they raised in detail and considering the significance of their issues and demands, I assured them that necessary measures regarding these matters would be taken soon,” Roy said.
The minister stressed the important role played by Anganwadi workers and helpers at the grassroots level in ensuring the welfare of children, mothers and families.
“We are committed to taking necessary steps to further improve their working conditions while ensuring due recognition for their responsibilities and contributions,” he said.
Roy said the government would consider the concerns raised by the representatives and take appropriate measures to address their legitimate demands.
