TIPRA Citizens Federation, Sonamura division submits memorandum to CM Dr Manik Saha on 13 demands

Agartala, May 30, 2023: The Sonamura divisional committee of the TIPRA Citizens Federation on Tuesday sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on 13 point charter of demands.

In a press conference, the TCF demanded the speedy completion of village council elections in ADC areas, the passing of ADC bills for the development of ADC areas, provision of education in Kokborok language in Roman script for the people, appropriate to ensure that no untoward incident takes place anywhere in the state on the occasion of upcoming Id Uz Zuha, initiate action against the attacks on opposition party workers in various parts of Boxanagar and Sonamura sub-divisions, extortion, looting and even setting houses on fire, etc. after the recently concluded 2023 assembly elections, constructing a paved bridge over the river Gomati by the side of the Sonamura playground, construction of a children’s park in Sonamura city and a park and sports stadium around the city as well, elevation of Sonamura Nagar Panchayat to Municipal Council very quickly, which should have happened 20 to 25 years back, etc.

Spokesperson of TIPRA Motha party’s central committee and 20 Boxanagar assembly constituency candidate Abu Khayer Mia, Central Committee member and 23-Dhanpur assembly constituency candidate Amiyo Dayal Noatia, Md Shamsul Alam and others were present in the press conference.

The upcoming 23-Dhanpur Assembly by-election issue came up in today’s press conference, the spokesperson said that in the upcoming elections, there will be a one-is-to-one fight against the ruling party in Dhanpur. However, the High Command will decide who will give the candidate.

He also expressed hope that TIPRA Motha will take strong steps organizationally in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Panchayat elections.
