TIPRA threatens to launch stir against government  for not releasing fund

Date:

Agartala: June 02. The TIPRA Motha has threatened to launch massive protest if the Tripura Government failed to clear the pending amount of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council’s (TTAADC) budget.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, leader of opposition and TIPRA Motha MLA Animesh Debbarma said alleged that the fund flow in TTAADC is very poor leading to which all the developmental works halted.

“When I was part of the TTAADC the fund flow in the district council was poor. During erstwhile left front government the budget touched Rs 1, 000 crore per Financial Year, but in the first year when TIPRA Motha took over TTAADC the amount was Rs 586 crore and out of that Rs 76 crore the present BJP government didn’t transferred and we thought that in the year 2022-23 the state government will clear the pending amount but they didn’t. For the Financial Year 2022-23 the approved budget was Rs 619 crores. State government is yet to pay more than Rs 60 crores from the last year’s budget to the TTAADC. The fund flow is very poor”, he said.

He said that the TTAADC was unable to pay salary of its employees because of the pending amount.

“The financial condition is poor. Despite knowing the financial condition of the TTAADC but they are not taking any steps. TIPRA Motha would launch big movement to create pressure on the state and central government to release the fund. The present BJP-IPFT government will be blamed for such condition and the reflection of blaming will be seen clearly in the next parliament election and if this it continues TIPRA Motha and other opposition parties will get united and the big force will go against the government and there is a chance that BJP to be defeated in the Lok Sabha poll”, he added.
