Agartala, 13th August 2025: The Sepahijala district administration organized a vibrant ‘Tiranga Mela’ today at the District Office grounds celebrating local enterprise and patriotic spirit ahead of Independence Day.
The programme was inaugurated by Supriya Das Dutta, Sabhadipati of the Sepahijala Zilla Parishad, marking the formal commencement of the district-level festivities. She was accompanied by District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, District Session Judge and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debasish Das among others.
A key highlight of the mela was the exhibition of stalls set up by self-help groups under the Rural Livelihood Mission across all seven blocks of the district. Supriya Das Dutta formally inaugurated the exhibition section by cutting the ribbon at the self-help group stalls, which featured locally produced goods and crafts.
Among the participating blocks, Nalchar RD Block secured first place for its outstanding presentation and products, followed by Bishalgarh Block in second place and Mohanbhog Block in third. Awards were presented to the winners by the attending dignitaries, acknowledging their contributions to rural development and entrepreneurship.
In her address, Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta emphasized the importance of empowering rural communities and fostering self-reliance through such initiatives. She praised the dedication of the self-help groups and encouraged continued collaboration between local governance and grassroots organizations.
