TJU announces free accommodation for districts’ journalists

Agartala, 18th February 2025:  Tripura Journalists Union has initiated a commendable effort to provide free accommodation for journalists from the districts and their family members when they visit Agartala for medical services. This initiative is jointly organized by the Tripura Journalists Union and the Tripura Volunteers Health Association.

Speaking to reporters here at Agartala Press Club today, Journalists Union President Pranab Sarkar highlighted the benefits of this initiative stating, “This program aims to alleviate the accommodation issues faced by journalists and their families when they come to Agartala for medical purposes. It is our way of supporting our colleagues during their times of need.”

Sarkar further explained the procedure noting, “Journalists from different parts of the state who require medical services in Agartala should inform us in advance. For room booking, they can contact us at 7005590446 or 9863052602. Accommodation will be provided completely free of cost, but beneficiaries must bring their own identity cards. This arrangement is exclusively for those receiving medical services.”

The Tripura Journalists Union and the Tripura Volunteers Health Association are committed to ensuring that this initiative brings relief and support to the journalistic community and their families, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and care within the profession.
