Agartala: December 01. In protest against political terror and deteriorating law and order, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress today held a protest rally and gheraoed the residence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

A large rally was organized from the Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress office on Thursday to gheraoed the resident of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha to protest the political clashes and deterioration of law and order in the state.

Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress in-charge Rajiv Bandopadhyay, All India Trinamool Congress MP Sushmita Dev, Pradesh Mahila Trinamool Congress President Panna Dev, Pradesh Trinamool Students Council President Shivam Saha and other leaders were present on this day.

When the procession reached in front of the residence of Chief Minister’s house, the police harassed the Trinamool Congress workers following which a scuffle erupted.

In this context, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress in-charge Rajeev Bandopadhyay said, “Rape, murders, drug addiction is taking place in Tripura, there is no development and the Chief Minister is going from house to house with posters of good governance to cover corruption. You have seen that we have repeatedly said that we are against political terrorism. We have seen yesterday. That the victim of this political terror is a worker of an opposition political party. We express our condolences.”

During the rally, All India Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev said, “Today I will say that the way BJP workers are fighting with workers of other parties in various places right before the assembly elections, why can’t the government control these? We want peaceful election to be held in Tripura, there will be fight for poll. I want to ask Dr. Manik Saha that every day we see in the papers that there are clashes going on between different parties. Is really Tripura Police taking any action? Why are they not being arrested because they are BJP workers? We want a peaceful poll”.
