TMC holds sit-in demonstration

Agartala: Sept 24. West Tripura (Sadar) District Trinamool Congress organized a massive sit-in demonstration near Agartala city center today protesting unemployment in the state, hike in commodity prices and other issues. Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress in-charge Rajib Banerjee, Pradesh Yuva Trinamool Congress President Santanu Saha, Pradesh Mahila Trinamool Congress President Panna Dev, West Tripura Sadar District Convenor Piyush Kanti Dev Roy, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Incharge Neel Kamal Saha and other leaders were present on the day.

 In this context Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress in-charge Rajib Banerjee said, “People need to know how this government of today is underdevelopment across Tripura. The state government didn’t take any steps to increase the income of people. The state government is not taking any steps to control the price of essential commodities. Where is the double engine government? We can see how the center is increasing the price of petrol, diesel and cooking gas, the condition of the poor people of this state, the prices of goods are increasing. Moreover, there is no democracy, unemployment, education – health anarchy. We joined the sit-in protest today with multiple demands”, he said. Besides, 22 female students joined Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Chhatra Parishad at the end of mass stand.
