Agartala, December 19, 2022: Pradesh TMC president Pijush Kanti Biswas on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for campaigning in favour of BJP using government treasury and machinery.

Speaking to media persons at TMC state head office here this noon, Biswas said “Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Tripura state, the people of the state were hoping that he would give some assurances, but it turned out that he has come with crores of rupees from the government treasury. Spending money to turn the stable meeting into an election meeting in the name of government programs. Couldn’t announce anything new for the welfare of the people of the state, he repeated some completed projects to mislead people.”

People are deeply disappointed and we understand that BJP has no intention of forming a government in the next election. No chance. That’s why they tried to influence the people by spending crores of rupees from the government treasury in a very dirty way. They put pressure on the people, telling the beneficiaries that if they don’t attend the PM’s visit, their names will be removed from the beneficiary list. The government employees were forced”, he added.

Trinamool Congress strongly condemn this that the money meant for the welfare of the people was used for party work yesterday, while the people of the state are starving. TMC knows that the party has not fulfilled any of the promises it made before the 2018 elections.

He also said, “7th Pay Commission, NREGA wage hike, 10323 was told that all will be re-employed, jobs on missed calls, 5 years are going to end, did not keep a promise but people because the PM of India made a promise for the party. The people of the state believed it but this visit on the eve of the Prime Minister proved that he has become a habit of lying. The BJP government has done nothing for the state of Tripura but cheated. There is no employment system, not a word about what will happen to the unemployed.”

Citing the present scenario of TMC, Biswas said “This government must fall. In many places people are coming down 500-600 feet to fetch water. Yesterday I did not see that the Prime Minister said a single word for their development. There is nothing in ADC area, no drinking water. There is no water supply. There are no facilities in the hilly areas.”

In the press meet, Pradesh Youth Trinamool Congress President Santanu Saha, Pradesh Mahila Trinamool Congress President Panna Dev and other leaders were present.
