Tragic Republic Day incident: Unidentified burn victim dies during treatment

Agartala, 27th January 2025:   On the night of Republic Day, the city experienced a shocking incident as an unidentified individual was found severely burnt on the road. The West Agartala Police Station promptly intervened, rescuing the person who, unfortunately, succumbed to injuries this morning while receiving treatment. The identity of the deceased remains unknown at this time.

West Agartala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Paritosh Das stated, “We received a report around 3 am that an unidentified individual was lying in a burnt condition in the lane opposite the Krishnanagar TRTC gate. Our team, along with the fire brigade, rushed to the scene and transported the person to GB Hospital.”

Despite immediate medical attention, the person passed away on Monday morning. Paritosh Das added, “We are actively investigating the incident. The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined.”

This morning, OC Paritosh Das and his team conducted a thorough investigation at the site of the incident. Deputy Director of Forensics Suman Chakraborty also arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.

“We are committed to uncovering the details of this tragic incident and will leave no stone unturned,” Das assured.
