Transport Minister Inspects NH-8 Construction, Addresses Public Grievances

Agartala, 2nd January 2026:  Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today said that he conducted an inspection of the under-construction National Highway-8 (NH-8) stretch from Khayerpur to Champaknagar in the morning. Special focus was given to the portion of the highway falling under the Majlishpur Assembly Constituency, particularly the stretch from Karaibana to Acharya Tila.

During the inspection, the Minister was accompanied by local public representatives from the Majlishpur Assembly Constituency, officials of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Public Works Department (PWD) officials, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and officers from various other departments.

The Transport Minister interacted with local residents and listened to several public grievances related to the ongoing construction of the national highway. He directed the concerned officials to take appropriate and prompt measures to address the issues raised by the people and ensure timely and quality completion of the project.

The Minister emphasized the importance of proper coordination among departments and assured that the government is committed to resolving public concerns and improving road infrastructure for the benefit of the people.
