Agartala, 6th December 2024: The Tripura Adhikar Sangram Parishad has called for immediate government assistance for the victims of Ranirbazar Kaitarabari. On Friday, members of the organization’s West Tripura District Committee submitted a deputation to the District Magistrate emphasizing the urgent need for support for the affected families.
Speaking to the media personnel, a leader of the organization K. Devendra Singh highlighted the plight of the victims. “It has been nearly four months since the brutal attack, looting and arson by miscreants in Ranirbazar Kaitarabari. The affected families are still living in temporary camps with their infants and the administration has already stopped the food supply. As a result, these 20-22 families are in extreme crisis,” Singh stated.
Singh further explained that the temporary police camp set up after the August 25 incident has been withdrawn, leaving the families in a vulnerable state. “The families are suffering from extreme poverty and the future of their children has become uncertain. We demand that the government immediately rebuild the houses of the minority families affected by the communal fire in Ranirbazar Kaitarabari,” he said.
The Tripura Adhikar Sangram Parishad has put forth a four-point demand urging the government to provide a minimum of Rs 10 lakh to each family to help them regain stability. “It is the responsibility of the state to protect the lives and property of its citizens. The entire incident took place in front of the police and security forces. The administration cannot deny its responsibility now,” Singh emphasized.
The organization hopes that the administration will promptly address these demands and extend necessary support to the affected citizens of Kaitarabari. The call for assistance highlighted the need for swift action to alleviate the suffering of the victims and ensure their well-being.
