Tripura aims to generate solar power by 2030: Power Minister

Agartala, November 25: Tripura has taken initiatives to generate electricity through solar energy by 2030, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Saturday. He said that this will benefit the people of the state and reduce dependence on conventional sources of power.

Nath was speaking at the bi-anniversary conference of Power Engineers Association Tripura at Sukanta Academy. He praised the role of engineers in building modern India and modern Tripura. He also highlighted the achievements of TSECL in the state in the last five years.

He said that three 132 KV sub stations, 22 33 KB sub stations, 154 km of 132 KV lines, 3,399 km of new STs and 9,127 km of LED lines have been constructed in the state. He also said that the number of electricity consumers has increased from 7.21 lakh to 9.71 lakh 240 people in the last five years.
