Tripura Board of Secondary Education begins secondary exams; 33,732 appeared today

Agartala, 2nd March 2024 :   The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has commenced its Madhyamik examinations for the academic year 2023-24 from today. The exams will continue till March 23, covering various subjects.

On the first day of the exams, the Madhyamik and Madrasa Alim candidates appeared for the English paper, which started at 12 noon. The president of the TBSE board, Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury, visited one of the examination centers to inspect the arrangements and interact with the students and staff.

According to the TBSE, this year, a total of 33,732 students have registered for the Madhyamik exams, while the number of secondary students is yet to be disclosed. The exams are being conducted at 69 centers and locations across the state, with 145 centre and venues.

The TBSE has also divided the state into eight districts for the smooth conduct of the exams. The district-wise distribution of the centers, fields and schools is as follows: Dhalai district: 7 centers, 13 venues and 103 schools; Gomati district: 6 centers, 17 venues and 127 schools; Khowai district: 3 centers, 12 venues and 109 schools; North Tripura district: 6 centers, 19 venues and 117 schools; Sipahijala district: 8 centers, 22 venues and 179 schools; South district: 10 centers, 19 venues and 168 schools; Unakoti district: 5 centers, 13 venues and 92 schools; and West Tripura district: 24 centers, 29 venues and 204 schools.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization, has extended its support and assistance to the secondary students on the first day of the exams. The ABVP volunteers helped the students with their seat numbers, greeted them with sandalwood tilak and flowers, and wished them good luck for their exams. The youth leaders of the ABVP said that they will continue to help the students throughout the exam period.
