Agartala, 24th July 2025:  The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) announced a significant increase in pass percentages for both Secondary (Madhyamik) and Higher Secondary levels, attributing the improvement to successful outcomes in this year’s ‘Bachar Bachao’ examinations.

Board President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury, speaking at a press conference earlier today, confirmed that the cumulative pass rate for Secondary has surged to 92.51%, while Higher Secondary saw an uplift to 88.24% following the final publication of ‘Bachar Bachao’ results.

“This year’s results reflect the resilience and determination of the examinees. The ‘Bachar Bachao’ exams gave eligible students a vital opportunity to clear subjects they previously struggled with,” Dr. Chowdhury stated.

In the Higher Secondary category, 2,995 students were declared eligible for the year-saving examination after revaluation. Of these, 2,710 students appeared for the exam, with 1,919 successfully passing and 791 failing. This brought the pass rate for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam in Higher Secondary to 70.81 percent.

For Secondary (Madhyamik), 3,155 students qualified post-revaluation, and 2,772 appeared for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ examination. Out of those, 1,757 passed while 1,015 did not, resulting in a pass rate of 63.38 percent.

Providing insight into the broader performance metrics, the Board Secretary reported that a total of 29,670 students had appeared for the Madhyamik final examination. Initially, 25,673 candidates passed, reflecting a pass rate of 86.53 percent. After revaluation, the rate slightly improved to 86.58 percent. Following the ‘Bachar Bachao’ examination, an additional 1,757 candidates were declared successful, increasing the overall number of pass-outs to 27,448 and raising the final pass rate to 92.51 percent.

In the Higher Secondary segment, 21,506 students appeared in total, with 17,052 passing the final exam, marking a pass rate of 79.29 percent. Post-revaluation, this figure nudged up to 79.32 percent. With 1,919 more students clearing the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam, the total number of passed candidates rose to 18,978, leading to a revised pass rate of 88.24 percent.

The complete ‘Bachar Bachao’ examination results have been made available on the official TBSE website. Dr. Chowdhury also confirmed the successful completion of all activities related to the 2025 board examinations.

Additionally, he noted that students migrating from other boards who wish to appear for Tripura’s Secondary and Higher Secondary exams must obtain prior approval from the TBSE to ensure eligibility.
