Agartala, 9th  February 2026 :  The Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana, a key welfare scheme of the state government, continues to provide crucial financial support to daughters from Antyodaya families. The scheme is aimed at assisting eligible girls who have attained the age of 18 years and whose marriages have been arranged, by offering monetary aid prior to marriage.

Under the scheme, applicants can submit their applications at the Panchayat, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), or Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) offices along with valid proof of age, such as an Aadhaar card or school certificate, and bank account details. Following due verification, eligible beneficiaries are provided a financial assistance of ₹50,000 before their marriage.

Today, Minister Tinku Roy handed over a cheque of ₹50,000 to a beneficiary under the scheme at Goldharpur village. The assistance was provided to Mili Sinha, a resident of the village, ahead of her marriage.

Addressing the occasion, Minister Roy said the scheme has been playing a significant role in supporting daughters from economically weaker sections and easing the financial burden on poor families during marriages. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for launching the initiative, terming it a meaningful step towards social welfare.

The minister further stated that the government is committed to ensuring that all eligible families receive the benefits of the Kanya Vivah Yojana. He also urged other eligible families in the area to come forward and apply under the scheme to avail themselves of its benefits.
