Agartala, 4th May 2025: Tripura has emerged as the leader among small states in the country for its outstanding judicial system, according to the India Justice Report 2025. The state secured an impressive score of 5.32 out of 10, surpassing other small states like Sikkim, which ranked second, and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Goa.
This recognition is a result of the collective efforts of Tripura’s judges, judicial officers, court staff, and members of the bar, all of whom have contributed to the state’s judicial success. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha extended his congratulations to everyone involved, acknowledging that this achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of all those associated with the judicial process.
The India Justice Report 2025 evaluates the judicial system based on four key parameters: judicial process, police, prisons, and legal aid. The report, which is compiled with support from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, has highlighted Tripura’s strong judicial performance in comparison to its peers.
Expressing his satisfaction with the result, Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that this milestone would further boost public trust in the judicial process, reinforcing the state’s commitment to delivering justice efficiently and fairly.
