Tripura CM Reviews Long-Term Growth Plan for Tripura University with Vice-Chancellor

Agartala, 12th July 2026:   Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, Prof. Dr. Debabrata Das, to discuss the institution’s long-term development strategy and measures to strengthen academic excellence.

During the meeting, Prof. Das presented a detailed five-year vision aimed at transforming the university through improvements in academics, research, infrastructure, and overall institutional performance. The roadmap also seeks to enhance the university’s standing at the national level.

Dr. Manik Saha congratulated Prof. Das on assuming the role of Vice-Chancellor and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the university towards sustained growth. He encouraged the Vice-Chancellor to implement initiatives that would help establish Tripura University as one of the country’s premier higher education institutions.

The discussion also covered key developmental priorities for the university, with the Chief Minister assuring full support from the state government in carrying forward plans that contribute to the institution’s progress.

Highlighting the significance of quality higher education, Dr. Saha said the strength of a state’s intellectual and academic landscape depends on the standard of its educational institutions. He stressed that Tripura University should work with a clear vision to achieve academic excellence and earn recognition among India’s top universities.
