Agartala Oct 27: Along with Chief Minister’s of 7 other states and Home Minsters and Deputy Chief Ministers of 16 states Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha also gathered in Faridabad, Haryana for a 2-day “Chintan Shivir” or brainstorming session on internal security with Union Home Minister Amit Shah chairing the session.
PM Narendra Modi is also scheduled to address the session digitally on Friday. Those whose attendance has been confirmed include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Other states have either sent their home ministers, deputy chief ministers or senior police officers. The home ministers of Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Odisha, Telangana, Puducherry, Haryana and Sikkim have confirmed attendance, said sources. Maharashtra and Nagaland are being represented by their deputy chief ministers, while Ladakh and J&K will have their lieutenant governors attending the event.
While Bihar has sent the state police DGP to attend the event, West Bengal has sent ADG, Home Guards, to represent the state. Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who also holds the portfolio of Home attended the session on Thursday accompanied by Home secretary Saradindu Choudhury and DGP Amitabh Ranjan. In his social media post, CM Dr Saha wrote, “The Chintan Shivir will further help the state administration to tackle cyber crimes, narcotics, cross border issues and many more”.According to official sources, the aim of the two-day brainstorming session in Haryana is to prepare an action plan to implement ‘Vision 2047’ and ‘panch pran’ announced by PM Modi in his Independence Day speech.
