Agartala, 22nd April 2025: A routine school function turned unexpectedly tense at Amtali Higher Secondary School on the outskirts of Agartala, when the school’s principal, Ratna Chowdhury, suddenly collapsed on stage mid-program.
Amid the commotion, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who was present as the chief guest, displayed exemplary composure and compassion. Without a moment’s delay, Dr. Saha rushed to her side and personally administered first aid until medical professionals arrived. His timely intervention ensured the principal received immediate care and began to recover soon after.
Dr. Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, was at the school to inaugurate its new building. The event also included a virtual unveiling of newly constructed school buildings at Henry Derozio Academy, Gandhigram H.S. School, Taltala H.S. School, Indranagar High School, and Nandan Nagar H School.
The Chief Minister’s quick thinking and humane gesture earned widespread praise from students, faculty, and attendees, transforming a moment of alarm into one of admiration and reassurance.
