Agartala, 12th September 2024: The All Tripura Computer Education Association (ATCEA) submitted a deputation to the Director of the Education Department, demanding job security for computer instructors. The members of ATCEA marched from the Agartala Press Club to the Education Department office, where a delegation led by spokesperson Shubhankar Roy presented their demands.
Roy highlighted that approximately 365 computer instructors are nearing the completion of their five-year service period without any job security. He emphasized the necessity of guaranteed employment for these instructors to ensure the success of the ICT project. Roy questioned the effectiveness of the ICT project if students do not benefit from it and if instructors face job insecurity after five years.
He pointed out that many instructors from the first batch have only six to seven months left to complete their five-year term. Without job security, these teachers may leave, disrupting the ICT education system. Roy urged the government to take necessary steps to ensure the success of computer education in Tripura and to provide minimum social security for the instructors involved in the ICT project.
