Tripura Floods: Biplab Deb Speaks to Officials, Seeks Swift Rescue and Relief

Agartala, 23rd August 2026 : Former Tripura Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has spoken with concerned officials and authorities, urging them to ensure swift rescue operations, relief distribution and necessary administrative assistance for people affected by floods triggered by heavy rainfall across West Tripura district and other parts of the state.

In a social media message on Sunday, Deb said he had discussed with the concerned authorities the need to conduct proper rescue operations in inundated areas and ensure that relief materials and all necessary administrative assistance reach affected people without delay.

He said the administration was actively working to address the situation and was making efforts to provide timely relief and essential support to those affected by the floods.

Deb also urged people to remain alert and maintain close coordination with the administration during the ongoing adverse weather conditions. He advised residents to stay safe and avoid entering vulnerable or waterlogged areas unless necessary.

He further appealed to people to follow the instructions and advisories issued by the administration to ensure their safety as heavy rainfall continues to affect several parts of the state.
