Agartala, August 22: The Tripura government has rolled out a series of major welfare initiatives aimed at supporting Antyodaya families and differently-abled persons, alongside key administrative decisions to strengthen state departments.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat, Cabinet spokesperson and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the decisions were finalized in the state cabinet meeting held on August 20.
Under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Bivah Yojana, girls from Antyodaya families will now receive financial assistance of ₹50,000 for marriage.
“In another significant move, the Chief Minister’s Antyodaya Shraddhajanji Yojana has been revised, enhancing funeral assistance from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000. The cabinet has also approved a new initiative—Chief Minister’s Scheme for Mentally Challenged Persons—through which beneficiaries will be entitled to a monthly allowance of ₹5,000,” Chowdhury informed.
Alongside welfare measures, the cabinet also gave approval for key administrative posts, including:
45 posts of Senior Manager (Electrical) under TSECL, Power Department.
25 posts across various categories under the Law (PA) Department, including one Process Server (Group-D) and one Driver (Group-C).
4 vacant posts of CDPO under the Education (SW & SE) Department.
“These measures reflect the government’s unwavering commitment towards ensuring social security, dignity, and welfare for the most vulnerable sections of society,” Chowdhury added.
