Tripura Gramin Bank Employees Association protests against Privatization of Bank

Agartala July 22: As a part of an all-India mass agitation program a massive protest demonstration was held in front of the Tripura Gramin Bank head office on Friday. Around 207 employees and officers representatives from various branch units of Tripura Gramin Bank participated in this rally.

General Secretary of Tripura Gramin Bank Officers Union Sanjay Das, General Secretary of Tripura Gramin Bank Employees Association Ratna Banerjee, All India Leader Sameer Debbarma, Secretary of Bank Employees Federation of Tripura Jahar Lal Dey, Vikas Debnath on behalf of Retired Staff Association, All India Women’s Branch addressed from the spot of agitation.

Tripura Gramin Bank Employees Association, Officers Union, Retired Association jointly held protest on the basis of 12 charter point demands on Friday. The employees stated that Gramin Bank is linked with Sponsored Bank and as a result the staff’s voices are not reaching directly to the govt. they demanded the govt. to remove Gramin Bank from Sponsor Bank and link all Gramin Banks together and create NRBI. The staffs also said that their promotion policy should be maintained properly.The staffs further alleged their recruitment process is not being done in an accurate manner. Moreover, demands have been raised to start the old pension system by cancelling the New Pension System. The agitators also declared to hold one day strike in the month of September next.
