Agartala, 13th March 2026:   Employees and officers of Tripura Gramin Bank, under the banner of the Joint Development Forum, have announced a symbolic one-day strike on Monday, March 16, pressing for a 10-point charter of demands. The recognized unions TGBEA, TGBEF, TGBOA and TGBOEU will participate in the protest.

Union representatives said the strike is aimed at improving working conditions and securing fair implementation of salary and allowance-related agreements. Key demands include ensuring a healthy and dignified workplace, enforcing benefits under NABARD’s Ninth Joint Note and the 12th Bipartite Settlement, and proper classification of bank branches.

The unions have also sought adequate staffing based on business needs, minimum wages for DRW and sanitation workers, and compliance with central government directives on employee entitlements. Another major demand is the formation of a joint consultative committee comprising management and employee representatives to uphold transparency in bank operations.

Leaders further emphasized the need for modern infrastructure planning and, if required, the creation of additional administrative zones to strengthen the institution. “This symbolic strike is intended to draw the management’s attention to our legitimate demands,” union leaders stated.
