Tripura has made remarkable progress in organic farming: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu

Agartala, 16th September 2024:   Tripura has made significant strides in organic farming, earning commendation for its eco-friendly farming environment. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu praised the state’s achievements while unveiling the book “Soil Fertility, Experiments, Crops, Cultivation and Research of Tripura,” authored by Indrajit Chakraborty, at the Agartala Press Club on Monday morning.

“Tripura’s impressive success in creating an eco-friendly farming environment is highly commendable,” said Governor Nallu. He emphasized the importance of agriculture in social life and the Indian economy, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritized improving farmers’ conditions. “Various schemes have been undertaken to eliminate all the problems faced by the farmers in farming,” he added.

The governor urged the state’s farmers to embrace modern technology to boost production across various fields. He expressed hope that the book would help farmers better understand which crops can be produced more efficiently in different parts of Tripura.

The event also featured remarks from Dr BU Chowdhury, head of the ICAR Research Complex and was presided over by Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharya.
