Agartala, 23rd September 2026 : Tripura Health and Family Welfare Department has decided to keep the Out Patient Departments (OPDs) of all health institutions across the state open on three holidays during the upcoming extended festive break.
According to a memorandum issued by the Director of Health Services, Dr Debasri Debbarma, OPD services will remain operational on October 19 (Maha Ashtami), October 22 (Additional Holiday) and October 24 (Fourth Saturday), 2026.
The decision has been taken in view of the 10 consecutive holidays from October 17 to October 26, covering Maha Saptami, Sunday, Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami, Vijaya Dashami, two additional holidays, the fourth Saturday, Sunday and Lakshmi Puja.
The department stated that keeping OPDs open on the three specified days is intended to ensure continuity of outpatient healthcare services during the prolonged holiday period.
The memorandum, bearing No. F.1(7)-DHS/GS/18 and dated September 21, 2026, was issued with the approval of the Government of Tripura, Health and Family Welfare Department.
