Tripura hockey players raise allegations against TOA Secretary Rupak Debroy

Agartala, May 12, 2023: The hockey players of Tripura joined the protest on Friday, raising serious allegations against Tripura Olympic Association’s Secretary Rupak Deb Roy. Allegation against the secretary is that he is playing at the national level with the name of Tripura. On this day, hockey players from all over the state protested in front of Rupak Deb Roy’s Dhaleswar house here.

It is alleged that the accused Rupak Devaray is giving opportunities to children from outside the state to play in the name of Tripura in lieu of money depriving the original children and players of Tripura. Recently, children from outside state played in the name of Tripura in Haryana and they were defeated.

On the one hand, the reputation of Tripura is being ruined, on the other hand, the boys and girls involved in the hockey game of Tripura are being deprived. In addition, a person named Sujit Bhowmik, who led the protest site, alleged that the accused Rupak Debray was filling his pockets in various proceedings. He said this has been going on for many years.

Meanwhile, they demanded that the Chief Minister and the Sports Minister of the state for initiating strict action against the accused person.

After receiving the information about the incident, the East Agartala police station staff rushed to the spot. Boys and girls presented their demands to the police. The protest was called off after the assurance of the police.
